The Royal Forest of Dean Bowling Club is an independent club which uses the bowling green and facilities at Bells Hotel & Country Club, Coleford. Members pay an annual fee to the Hotel which is £100 in 2023. This fee entitles members to use the green and gives discounts at the bar/restaurant on presentation of their membership card.
Members pay £20 a year to the bowling club to cover costs such as insurance, registration etc. There is a small charge for each league game to cover incidental costs.
Unlike many other clubs, members do not have to ‘volunteer’ to maintain the green and/or run the premises; this is all done by the professional staff at Bells Hotel.
Interested? No experience needed!
Come along on a Wednesday evening (6.30pm onwards, mid April to mid September) when you will be able to try the game without any obligation and meet club members socially.
